Repeated wetting and drying, as well as continued use in dry, dusty, and desert areas, robs leather of natural oils. This causes stiffening and cracking. Pecard Classic Leather Dressing is a perfect blend of natural ingredients that keeps leather supple, strong and beautiful. It repels water, snow and dew; prevents hardening and cracking; resists most acids; removes most stains, and allows the leather to "breathe". For shoes, boots, sports equipment, saddles, harness and all leather goods. 6oz container.
WHY PECARD IS SUPERIOR TO OTHER LEATHER CONDITIONERS AND PRESERVATIVES Many leather dressings utilize chemical solvents in order to facilitate penetration of oils into the leather. Such solvents can lead to ”bleeding” or migrating onto adjacent materials, causing discoloration or other damage. In addition, such chemical solvents may be flammable, irritating or toxic. Pecard Leather Dressing does not contain any harmful chemical solvents. As an oil based product with a blend of waxes, it achieves several objectives: (1) fiber penetration and nourishment; (2) absorption and retention in the leather; (3) control of migration or seepage. Although Pecard Leather Dressing is widely accepted as a treatment for the more common vegetable and chrome-tanned leather, there are certain leathers for which it is not suitable (e.g., napped leathers, such as suede or glove soft leather, which call for treatment with lighter lubricants). NOTE: Leather that has become cracked from inadequate or inappropriate care cannot be restored to its original state by any available method. In summary, Pecard Leather Dressing is readily absorbed into the fibers and provides lasting and effective lubrication while leaving leather feeling soft and smooth.
Leather Dressing is slightly yellow in color and has very little to no scent. The consistency is likened to that of Vaseline, except a little thicker. Apply when the leather is between 60-80 degrees F. Using your fingers, apply Pecard to all surfaces of the leather item. Place the item on a non-absorbent surface at room temperature for a few days until Pecard gently softens old fibers. If Pecard is completely absorbed, reapply a lighter coat and wait another day. Buff to a shine when preferred.
